雲隠流忍法
KUMOGAKURE-RYŪ NINPŌ
Kumogakure-ryū (hidden cloud school) was founded by lga Heinaizaemon lenaga in the 1500’s, today Furuta Kōji is the 16’th generation grandmaster of the school.
雲 KUMO : cloud
隠 GAKURE : hidden, concealed
流 RYŪ : current, a sink, flow, forfeit
忍 NIN : endure, bear, put up with, conceal, secrete, spy, sneak
法 PŌ : method, law, rule, principle, model, system
“It has been said that this ryu was really created by the Toda family, in the 1600’s as a Ninjutsu school of thought, centering its techniques on the non-violent side of Ninjutsu. The Togakure Ryu teaches that violence is to be avoided. This would also explain why the school’s taijutsu is similar to the Togakure Ryu, as the Toda were also Sokes of the Togakure Ryu.” –R.V.D.
If there still exist Densho with techniques they have not been taught officially by Hatsumi Sōke. I have seen only a few Taijutsu concepts, no Kata techniques. It might be that this school was more specialised in espionage and tactics and not so much fighting. I don’t know much about this school.
With the new Sōke maybe something will be revealed soon?
Hidden in clouds,
The path of secret techniques,
Concealing oneself,
The mysteries of battle,
Kumogakure-ryu.
