August '23:
I was at the Noguchi Taikai in Stockholm with four others from Kaigozan Dojo...
October '23: I started working on bujinkan.online where I share all the Japanese articles I collected and translated to English with the help of AI. I also added all techniques from original Japanese Densho with translation. I'm also adding my own notes and clarifications. This will take years to finish. I think I already spent 1000 hours of work on this web site. Its not for free, I spent too much time to just give it away.

November '23:
I was at the Nagato Taikai in Finland together with two people from my Dojo.
January '24: After a couple of months of thinking together with the members of Kaigozan Dojo we decided it was time to give up our Dojo we had for 33 years and move to a new place. So we did not renew our contract, we had three months to move out.

March '24:
I went to Japan for the first time in four years (since the thing took the world) with two friends from Kaigozan Dojo. This was my 50'th Japan trip.
April '24: I held a Juttejutsu seminar in Helsinki organised by Erick Ellison and the Sakura Dojo. I recorded the whole seminar and it is available for download at the BUDOSHOP.SE
The new Kaigozan Dojo
We moved in to the new Dojo in March. The Dojo is smaller so it is still a little messy. I will add more pictures when it looks good.

Bujinkan Toryu Theme
My training theme from the beginning of the year was Kukishin-ryū Dakentaijutsu. I will continue Kukishin-ryū Chūden Kata after the summer. But during the summer I will focus on Kukishin-ryū Rokushaku Bōjutsu and the Kuji no Kata.
The Kuji no Kata is said to be the original techniques that later became the official Bōjutsu techniques in the Bujinkan Dōjō.
As you might know I work in shifts so I can only train the days I'm not working, when I'm working other Dai Shihan is teaching at Kaigōzan Dōjō. Here is the dates I'm training this summer...
Every 3 months I get two weeks paid "vacation", I get the new schedule at the end of July (I don't know when I get my "vacation", I usually travel that time so this might affect my schedule).

Introduction to the Four Worlds of Mastery The Four Worlds of Mastery In the disciplined and deeply philosophical world of Bujinkan, the journey from novice to master involves more than physical prowess. Additionally, it encompasses profound personal growth. The "Four Worlds of Mastery" guide this path, mirroring the traditional martial arts progression of Shu-Ha-Ri. It also highlights common cognitive biases, …

In the realm of stealth and strategy the Ninja once harnessed 海蛍 Umi Hotaru, sea-fireflies (Vargula hilgendorfii) a remarkable natural phenomenon as a nighttime guide. Daikomyosai - December 1998: A Glimpse into the Bujinkan World
Introduction In December 1998, I had the incredible opportunity to attend Daikomyosai, a martial arts event held in Japan. Daikomyosai, also known as Taikai, is an annual gathering of martial artists from around the world. This event is unique, primarily because it is presided over by Soke Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi, the head instructor of the Bujinkan organization. In this essay, …

YUDANSHA BOOK
I have only written one public book, and it is the YUDANSHA book. I got very good feedback from many prominent Bujinkan teachers including Hatsumi Soke. The book covers all the Taijutsu techniques I think every 5'th Dan should know by heart.
The book is only available from Lulu!
Below is two pages from the book as an example. It is available in a few different formats and bindings.

Japan Report Six 令和5年
I was invited to Furuta Sensei’s home dojo out in the countryside. He is very generous and picked us up from the train station. The only problem is that he plays a Lady Gaga CD on repeat during the drive. Furuta’s home dojo is very rustic with traditional tatami mats. He started training with ukemi and my cotton tabi really slid across the straw! His exploration of 基本八法 Kihon Happō is influenced by his study of 雲隠流 Kumogakure Ryū. ...

Japan Report Five 令和5年
Bujinkan training in Japan isn’t only about training. Sometimes it is about cultural experiences you might have there. And sometimes you might even find healing in the dojo! I began this day in Japan with a visit to 美術刀剣松本 Bijutsu Tōken Matsumoto in 西葛西 Nishikasai with my teacher Peter Crocoll. He brought a tsuka from home to be refurbished with new 柄巻 tsukamaki and fittings. ...
