Since my last newsletter, I’ve been deeply engaged in Bujinkan training and projects! I trained for two weeks in Japan at the Honbu Dojo with Bujinkan masters. I was honored to teach at Bujinkan’s 50th Anniversary in Europe, held in Norrköping, celebrating Bo Munthe’s legacy of introducing ninjutsu to Europe.
My website (toryu.se) sports a sleek new theme—hope you like it! I bought 10–15 Japanese books in Japan, having translated five so far, with plans to complete them all. I’ve blogged sample chapters, with four posts set for June Mondays and more to come.
I’ve invited secret guest instructors for the Kanreki Taikai in October—trust me, it’ll be an epic seminar! At Kaigozan Dojo, we’re focusing on Koto-ryū Koppojutsu and Okuden Kata.

BUJINKAN TORYU KANREKI TAIKAI STOCKHOLM - OCTOBER 17-19
I’m thrilled to share updates on the Kanreki Taikai seminar in October at Lilla Alby Skola, a venue we’ve loved before! I’ve invited a few trusted instructors, but their identities will stay a surprise—unless they choose to announce themselves (I won’t confirm or deny). The focus is on creating a meaningful Bujinkan experience, not fan groups.
Many of you reminisce about my KAIGOUSURU TAIKAI events from 1997–2007. For those new to Bujinkan or veterans, this “Training Party” is your chance to join the legacy. Don’t miss out—you might regret it!
I’m dedicated to making this event accessible. The training fee will be low, with free tickets offered to several attendees. All Bujinkan Dai Shihan are invited to attend at no cost.
To ensure quality, for every paid seminar fee, I’ll personally invest double to elevate the experience. Let’s make this Taikai a memorable gathering for all!

I’ve dedicated much of my work to BUJINKAN.ONLINE, a membership site designed to preserve and share the depth of our art. For just $25 per year, members receive a Bujinkan Membership Card issued by me, along with full access to the "Densho" members section.
/DENSHO/ Inside, you’ll find detailed descriptions of all Taijutsu techniques in the Bujinkan Dojo, along with most of the weapons. The Densho is available in its original Japanese, with Romaji and English translations. I’m continuously expanding this resource by adding my own insights and interpretations, complete with pictures.
Beyond techniques, the site also hosts a vast archive of historical articles, including writings by Hatsumi Sensei and rare materials about him—some dating back to 1961, covering both Takamatsu Sensei and Hatsumi Sensei.
Currently, there are 780 articles available. You can browse the front page and see the categories, but full access requires membership.
I’m committed to growing this resource and always looking for contributors. If you have articles that aren’t yet in the archive, I’d love your help. In return, I offer free access to the site for those who contribute missing materials. Daishihan are especially welcome—if you support this project by sharing your collection or encouraging your students to join, I’ll provide you with complimentary access.

Bujinkan Toryu Theme
My theme for training this year is KOTO-RYŪ KOPPŌJUTSU, which is one of my favourite schools for Taijutsu. I have finished Chuden Kata and started on Okuden Kata.
As some of you know, I work in shifts, so I can only train on my days off. When I’m working, other Dai Shihan are holding down the fort at Kaigōzan Dōjō. Here are the dates I’ll be training this spring:
- June 10, 17, 19, 26
- July 8, 15, 17, 24
- August 5, 12, 14, 21
- Septembver 2, 9,11, 18

YUDANSHA BOOK
I have only written one public book, and it is the YUDANSHA book. I got very good feedback from many prominent Bujinkan teachers including Hatsumi Soke. The book covers all the Taijutsu techniques I think every 5'th Dan should know by heart.
The book is only available from Lulu!

Below is two pages from the book as an example. It is available in a few different formats and bindings.
