It is with deep respect and sorrow that I share the passing of Ishizuka Tetsuji Sōke of Gyokkō-ryū, an esteemed member of the Bujinkan Dojo.
Though not one of my main teachers, his dedication, wisdom, and contributions to our art were undeniable. He influenced many with his knowledge and spirit, leaving a lasting impact on our community. His presence in training and his commitment to preserving the traditions of Bujinkan will not be forgotten.
My thoughts are with his family, students, and all who had the honor of learning from him. May he rest in peace.

The past month has been a difficult one, as we mourn the loss of a respected teacher and an important figure in the Bujinkan Dojo. His contributions and dedication to our art will not be forgotten, and we honor his memory by continuing to train and uphold the traditions he helped preserve.
In times like these, we are reminded of the importance of community, perseverance, and celebrating the journey we’ve shared. With that in mind, I want to take a moment to reflect on this milestone year and share some exciting news.
I will celebrate my 60th birthday in October…

BUJINKAN TORYU KANREKI TAIKAI STOCKHOLM - OCTOBER 17-19
I’m inviting a few trusted instructors to help me teach at this seminar—and I’m happy to say the response so far has been very positive. However, I won’t be announcing any names in advance. This isn’t about attracting specific fan groups, but about creating a meaningful experience for everyone. So, the instructor lineup will remain a surprise for those who attend.
I’ve often heard people mention how much they miss the KAIGOUSURU TAIKAI events I organized between 1997 and 2007. Many of you may not have been training back then, but now is your chance to experience another “Training Party.” Don’t miss this Taikai – you might regret it later!
I am committed to making this event accessible and memorable. I plan to keep the training fee low and will invite several people with free tickets. All Bujinkan Dai Shihan are welcome to attend without any cost.
To demonstrate my dedication to this event, for every seminar fee paid, I will personally match it by spending twice as much to ensure the seminar’s quality and success. Let’s make this a truly special gathering for everyone involved.

I’ve dedicated much of my work to BUJINKAN.ONLINE, a membership site designed to preserve and share the depth of our art. For just $25 per year, members receive a Bujinkan Membership Card issued by me, along with full access to the "Densho" members section.
/DENSHO/ Inside, you’ll find detailed descriptions of all Taijutsu techniques in the Bujinkan Dojo, along with most of the weapons. The Densho is available in its original Japanese, with Romaji and English translations. I’m continuously expanding this resource by adding my own insights and interpretations, complete with pictures.
Beyond techniques, the site also hosts a vast archive of historical articles, including writings by Hatsumi Sensei and rare materials about him—some dating back to 1961, covering both Takamatsu Sensei and Hatsumi Sensei.
Currently, there are 777 articles available. You can browse the front page and see the categories, but full access requires membership.
I’m committed to growing this resource and always looking for contributors. If you have articles that aren’t yet in the archive, I’d love your help. In return, I offer free access to the site for those who contribute missing materials. Daishihan are especially welcome—if you support this project by sharing your collection or encouraging your students to join, I’ll provide you with complimentary access.

Bujinkan Toryu Theme
My theme for training this year is KOTO-RYŪ KOPPŌJUTSU, which is one of my favourite schools for Taijutsu. I have finished Shoden Kata and started on Hekito Kata.
As some of you know, I work in shifts, so I can only train on my days off. When I’m working, other Dai Shihan are holding down the fort at Kaigōzan Dōjō. Here are the dates I’ll be training this spring:
- April: 15, 22, 24, 30
- May: 1, 13, 20, 22, 27, 29
- 50 Year Anniversary in Norrköping (May 17-18)
- June 10, 17, 19, 26

YUDANSHA BOOK
I have only written one public book, and it is the YUDANSHA book. I got very good feedback from many prominent Bujinkan teachers including Hatsumi Soke. The book covers all the Taijutsu techniques I think every 5'th Dan should know by heart.
The book is only available from Lulu!

Below is two pages from the book as an example. It is available in a few different formats and bindings.
